Today is a “whatever tickles your fancy” listing, so I thought I’d tell you about my birthday real quick. Oh yeah. Today is my birthday! I’m newly twenty three. A good friend told me today that after 21, birthdays just start blending together, and by 30, you start to avoid them, so I’m determined to enjoy my birthday for as long as I can!
First off, the people I work with totally love me (and I totally love them as well). They went all out… telling me happy birthday over and over all day, buying me balloons and bringing me silly gifts (some WAY sillier than others…) and just generally making me feel loved.
Someone caught wind of the fact that I’ve never been given flowers before, ever, so someone bought me a dozen red roses. It does pay to have a birthday so close to Valentine’s Day I suppose!

They teased a lot about getting me a stripper for my birthday (this is more funny the better you know me, I’m sure), but they didn’t… but I think my cake certainly reflected this desire (one of the other managers made this from scratch… red velvet cake… mmm).

My family and I went out to dinner after work, which was nice, and then I hung out with some friends from work, which was even nicer. Seriously, by the end of the day I felt so loved and appreciated, I almost didn’t know what to do with myself!
This post is part of the 30 Day Blogathon! Leaving a comment will surely help me complete this challenge!

General Updates
- I went to Texas at the beginning of September with the other managers from work. We helped a crew in Richardson train all their new employees and open up their new store. It was pretty fun, for real. I learned a lot and am now way comfortable with what is involved in this new store craziness. Plus I got to hang out with James and Zak.
- Oh! I got my management position at the new store. Same position, more or less, which I’m totally cool with
- I got too busy to reorganize my room.
- My leg still isn’t all the way healed, which is kind of gross.
- I’m seriously considering doing NaNoWriMo this year, depending on how much free time I have on my hands post-store-opening. I threatened to do it two years ago and never even found the time. But I can do it, right? RIGHT?
- My store opens in like a week and a half. A WEEK AND A HALF. Last night was orientation, so it feels official. We met a room full of new employees that are soon going to be working with us. It’s weird, but it’ll be fun. An adventure, right?
- I kind of miss Sukkot this year, due to aforementioned new store. I’ve never missed Sukkot before; I’ve always been able to get at least three or four days off work (my manager is awesome). I may get to spend one night down there this year. Sigh.
I think that’s all. I have WordPress on my iPhone now (heh heh heh) so my blogging should come WITH me from now on.

General Updates
- Cold Fronts. Yeah, I’m a weather nut. Anyhow, it’s only March and it was pushing 85 degrees already… so when it dropped back down to 39 earlier, it was a welcome change.
- Waking up and being able to go back to sleep. I’m turning into a morning person (EGAD!), but today I said forget it… rolled over and snoozed some more.
- Music. Seriously. I don’t know what I would do without it.
- Joshua Jackson. Watching an episode of Fringe today… seriously? I should thank the good Lord for him every day.
- Little brothers that love to do dishes. Let it be known that Stephen is made of awesome.

General Updates
- Strawberry popsicles. I may be spoiled by Braum’s ice cream, but I can’t resist those cheap-y little popsicles. I’m not even sure what they’re called… but they’re about 50 cents a box and they’re almost sinful.
- Impending thunderstorms. I love the feeling the world gets when a storm is coming. It’s kind of blustery and there’s a sense of anxiety and anticipation. I would have said thunderstorms… but ours never hit!
- Shakespeare. Okay, shut up. I’m one of those people who reads Shakespeare here and there just for the fun of it. I’m currently in the middle of Much Ado About Nothing which is the best Shakespeare play FTW.
- Infectious good moods. I’m one of those people who ALWAYS draws their mood from the people around me… and everyone was in such a gosh-darn good mood today. It just picks me right up!
- Acoustic guitar music. Enough said. ♥

General Updates
- Brand new books. Seriously, I love the way they smell! I like that almost as much as the smell of old (non-moldy, of course) books. Okay… I like books in general.
- Getting out of town. To be honest, I don’t make it out of Shawnee too awful much any more. I went in to Norman last night with some of the crazy people I work with, and had a surprisingly good time.
- Pepper Jack cheese. Om nom nom!
- Brilliant ideas. I can’t say much about this one… but that feeling you get when you’ve hatched the perfect solution or the perfect plan, seemingly out of thin air. I think it will be lovely.
- Moonsets. It’s five-fifteen a.m. and the moon (almost full) is setting right in front of our store. It’s huge and golden and beautiful.
