Writing
This section of the site is dedicated to my writing endeavors of all shapes and sizes, the good and the not-so-good. Writing is one of the things I have always loved to do, and the best part about writing is being able to share your creations with others.
Novellas
These never end up long enough to be called novels, but are way too complicated and involved to be short stories.
- Eighteen – Jackson Parker survives a near-fatal car accident, only to find himself in a coma and having the strangest dream. This leaves his best friend, Raelin Davis, to wait patiently for him to awaken, vowing that when he does, she’ll be able to set things right between them. She has no way of knowing just how long that day will take to arrive. April 2009 – Current
- Alternate (working title) – A short story in five parts, Monday through Friday, in which Elsie Jordan wakes up Tuesday morning and discovers herself in an alternate reality. Everyone twenty and under has been born as the opposite gender, and it seems that she’s traded places with her alternate self, Evan. September 2008 – Current
- Seasons Past – Audrey McKenna stumbles onto a centuries-old mystery: whatever happened to Iris Tucker? Did she commit suicide, or was she murdered? And why was nobody invited to the funeral? With the help of Rachel and Riley Carrington, she’s determined to figure it out. September 2006 – On hold
- Greystreet Academy – Anna Kyle is struggling to find her place in the world; with no early memories, she’s not even sure who she is. Just as things are starting to get better, her past rises up and sweeps her away. January 2004 – February 2006 – Editing / On hold
Short Stories
My shorter works of fiction tend to be a snapshot of something I’m feeling or needing to project onto fictional characters at the time.
- The Smell of Rain – Carrie is full of dreams and fancy when she meets the scientific and cynical Daniel. November 2007
- Liar, Liar – Sarah is only in kindergarten when she’s confronted with the effects of lies. December 2001
- Chatterbox – Keri is bothered by Jack saying she talks too much, as well as Emma always being at his side. June 2002
Poetry
I love writing poetry as a means of getting thoughts into words; nothing serious, and I’m really awful at them most of the time. Here’s a selection of the best.
- Stone Burdens – October 2008
- Wings – November 2007
- Plea – August 2007
- A Year Ago, A Year Ago – November 2006
- What is it Going to Take? – March 2004
